Tough Challenges Test Creativity

Belkin came to Nectar with an idea for a new KVM switch that would allow a user to connect up to four PCs to one keyboard, video monitor, mouse, and one set of speakers and use them on all connected computers.

Nectar’s Success: Experience-/Process-based Solutions

  1. Switches easily between MACs and PCs with DVI monitor connections.
  2. Front panel buttons with NEW LED indicator lights allow the user to access audio and video content from multiple computers simultaneously.
  3. Requires no software for installation.
  4. Now includes a built-in USB 2.0 hub for connecting your peripherals.
  5. Included cables are color coded to match the front buttons and back panel for trouble free installation.
  6. Now supports hot-key functionality for optional switching.
  7. Supports monitors with DVI-I connections.
  8. Supports USB keyboards and mice.
  9. Supports USB based computers.

Positive Results Exceed Expectations

  1. The KVM Switch helps to increase efficiency and productivity at home or in the office by reducing desktop clutter while keeping access to all of programs and files spread across multiple computers.
  2. The design won a Gold IDEA award in 2002.
